Trusting God's Timing

 13 days to go...

We have had many ups and downs planning this trip to India. At every turn, I have trusted that God's timing is perfect. For weeks I have been trying to get an appointment in Jaipur to complete our long-stay French visa with no luck - either the website fails, we get 'timed out' and have to wait 2 hours to get back in OR our payment simply wouldn't be processed. It has been bizarre, to say the least, but now with Tony's leg taking some time to heal, I figure God knew that we would lose that money too, had we booked the appointment.

In postponing our trip until January 13, I was thankfully able to:

  • cancel two internal flights in India and be credited the amount to use again later
  • cancel all accommodation with no penalty
  • change our travel arrangements to stay in Bengaluru until our French Long-Stay visa is processed (with a French Embassy close by, it should be quicker!)
Unfortunately, the change in date cost us an extra $2370. How Qantas justifies this amount to still fly with them, but just a little later, is absolutely beyond me. Narelle from Next Travels Cessnock has gone above and beyond to secure us the last 2 seats available for the 13th of January AND she did this from home during her own holidays. She has looked after us on many trips and I couldn't recommend a more delightful person to deal with when you're stressed 😆.

Tony is improving steadily and we are now just praying that he is healed by the next flight.
